A funny thing happened to me in the food court. HA! If that’s not an attention-grabbing first sentence, I don’t know what is! Actually, I don’t know for sure when it happened, but at some point while I was shopping in the mall, I caught the fingernail on my index finger on something that made it get all annoying and jaggedy. (‘Jaggedy’ is a new word I just made up.) So I was irritated because I’d tried nibbling on it to smooth it—you know how you do that—and it hadn’t worked. I sat down at one of the tables and dug around in the luggage I call my purse and was pleasantly surprised to be able to find the little pink and brown purse manicure set I got from work. As I was sitting there, dealing with my annoying, jaggedy nail, a group of five women walked by and one made an enthusiastic “oooh!” sound as she snatched up my open manicure set off my table. There followed a bevy of questions wanting to know where I’d gotten it. When it came out that I work for a company called “Big Dot of Happiness,” there were laughs and determined attestations that they would be getting manicure sets for themselves. And they got really excited when I told them it also comes in Zebra print! I guess that jaggedy nail wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
