G = Games: When choosing baby shower games, take into consideration the number of guests, the location and the time frame of the baby shower. For those who cannot attend, you can include them by choosing scratch off games and sending them one they can scratch off too. It will make them feel like they are still part of the shower!
G= Great Food: If you making the food yourself, go with simple finger foods like veggie & fruit trays, fresh fruit yogurt bar, mashed potato bar, tortilla wraps or mini sandwiches. If you are having it catered, they will usually plan a meal around your baby shower theme. No matter what type of food you serve, make sure there is enough of it – You won’t want to run out.
L = Location: Be sure to hold the baby shower in an area large enough to accommodate all the guests. You will save money by hosting it at your home but if you decide on an outside venue, call ahead to for reservations and inquire about decorating – Some venues won’t allow you to decorate. Even if you aren’t allowed to decorate, there are creative ways to make the baby shower festive. Personalized baby shower placemats create fun place settings while staying within the rules of the venue while candy bouquet centerpieces dress up each table.
E = Expectant Mom: A baby shower is a celebration of Mommy-To-Be and her new baby. Make sure there is a comfy chair that she can sit in and be relaxed during the event. If the shower is not a surprise, talk with Mommy-To-Be and find out what she needs to be comfortable.
