Baby Shower Favor Ideas: Turn Invites into Recipe Cards!

For this low-key Sunday afternoon baby shower, I decided not to “monkey”  around with complicated set-ups and extravagant menus. I created a  remarkable baby shower with a few essential items and a simple but delicious menu. Since the theme was BigDotOfHappiness.com’s Monkey Girl,  the most fitting menu item was Monkey Bread.Monkey Bread Recipe Cards

Monkey Bread is a staple at our family gatherings – you can count on finding it at every baby or bridal shower hosted by my extended family. Even with this level of popularity, I had no clue how to make it. A few phone calls later, I had gathered the family recipe and was on my way to creating a festive baby shower. I decided to share my recipe with each guest by creating recipe cards at BigDotOfHappiness.com. The amazing personalization options helped me enter all of the necessary information to create a unique baby shower favor each guest loved.Monkey Bread Recipe Card

Our Favorite Monkey Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 C. Granulated Sugar mixed with 1 t. Cinnamon
2 Cans Refrigerated Buttermilk Biscuits
1/2 C Chopped Walnuts, if desired
1/2 C. Raisins, if desired
1 C. Packed Brown Sugar mixed with 3/4 C. Melted Butter

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350°F and lightly grease cupcake pan.
2. Separate dough into cubes.
3. Coat biscuits with sugar mixture.
4. Layer in pan with walnuts and raisins.
5. Pour butter and brown sugar mixture over biscuits.
6. Bake for 28-32 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes.

I choose to bake four pieces in each compartment of a cupcake pan for individual servings instead of one large bread. This made the buffet line move much smoother since each guest can take a piece without having to put their beverages or plates down to pull pieces off of a large bread.Monkey Bread Recipe Cards

This simple baby shower was a huge success. With just a few key pieces and an easy menu, the preparation was easy and allowed me to host this amazing baby shower even with my hectic schedule.
