You’ll need:
- Empty square containers
- Blue sticklette candies
- Pirate birthday party die-cut card stock tags
- Two pieces of coordinating string, ribbon, or twine (the thicker, the better)
To make the nautical knot:
Step 1. Lay the first piece of coordinating string flat, in a loose “L” shape:
Step 2. From the lower, left-hand corner of the “L,” weave the second piece of string under, over, over, and under the first piece so you’re left with the below design:
Step 3. Grab the top of the first piece of string (or the top of the original “L” shape) and bring it down over, under, and over the loops you just created so you’re left with the below design:
Step 4. Slowly pull the ends of your string to tighten the knot, adjusting as you pull to keep the knot flat:
Step 5. Slide on a pirate-themed favor tag, then position the knot around your candy-filled container and tie the four ends together at the back:
Step 6. Adjust the tag and knot on the front of your container to create a pirate-themed party favor that Captain Hook himself would love!
