Did you know that wrapping paper curls just as well as regular ribbon? I did not, and was amazed how well it worked! In this step-by-step DIY tutorial, I’ll show you how easy it is to make your own curled ribbon out of wrapping paper. It’s a great way to use that extra piece of paper that’s always left over, and it looks pretty. I might never buy regular ribbon again!
Step 1: Fold the extra piece of wrapping paper in half, then in half again. The two folded edges will be the bottom.
Step 2: Starting at the top and going towards your two folded edges, cut long, thin strips into the folded paper.
Step 3: Using the same technique used to curl regular ribbon, curl each individual strip with a scissors. Vary the height at which you start curling each strip to help your final ribbon look nice and full! Go slowly, though – wrapping paper tears easier than ribbon.
Step 4: When each strip is curled, use a few small pieces of clear tape to secure the two folded ends to the top of your wrapped gift.
What an easy way to add a unique touch to wrapped packages!
