Whether it’s the middle of a hot summer or the second month of a cold winter, DIY salt scrub favors are perfect for any time of year. They are easy to make, can be customized to match your specific tastes, and best of all, can be decorated to match a variety of party themes! Here, we packaged individual “servings” of citrus salt scrub in BigDotofHappiness.com’s adorable candy jar containers, then added an Owl Girl sticker label and some pretty satin ribbon. With just a little effort, we created pretty fall party favors that matched our fall baby shower decorations perfectly! Keep reading to see just how we made this exfoliating salt scrub.
- 1 cup sea salt
- 1/4 cup coconut oil (or olive or almond oil)
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon orange zest
- Round candy jars
- Personalized sticker labels
- Ribbon
Directions:
- Start by slowly mixing the oil into your sea salt, adding just a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
- Mix in the orange zest.
- Slowly drizzle the lemon juice over the mixture. Just like when you added oil to the salt, you’ll want to go slowly so the mixture doesn’t become too watery.
- Mix well, then divide the mixture into individual favor containers. Big Dot of Happiness’ round candy jars are ideal for this type of favor as their metal lids twist on nice and tight!
- Store at room temperature until you’re ready to hand them out.
The subtle yellow color of this citrus salt scrub will add a cheerful pop of color to your party favors (and in this case, it complements Big Dot of Happiness’ Owl Girl baby shower theme wonderfully).
