I just turned the big 3-0 and instead of mourning my 20’s being over with a drab, dark “Over The Hill” themed party, I wanted to celebrate starting my 30’s with a colorful “Over The Rainbow” party! Anyone who knows me will tell you that I have a special place in my heart and {more often} my stomach for donuts so they made a few appearances too.
I started with lots of goodies from the Chevron Rainbow birthday party theme. The table decoration kit came in super handy in a few ways. I used the pop up stands to decorate the food table and the confetti helped add some punches of color on the white table cover and tied around a mason jar that held the forks. I got a bit of multipurpose use from the cupcake wrappers as well. They not only looked great wrapped around my rainbow sprinkled cupcakes but they fit perfectly around 9oz plastic cups that I filled with other sweet treats.
I’m naturally a crafty person so I added some fun homemade touches to my party as well. I attached inexpensive rainbow colored streamers to a ribbon and draped them behind the food table. It gave a real wow factor to the table. My favorite decorations at my party were the donut details. I made the 30 donut banner and strung it up along the bottom of the table. The centerpiece was a donut shaped cake that I made with a bundt cake pan topped with rainbow sprinkles and a HAPPY bunting banner made from some leftover streamers. It was such a perfect touch!
I had a blast in my 20s but if this party was at all an indication of how much fun my 30s will be, I’m in for quite a ride!
