Add a touch of Hawaiian fun to your next luau birthday party by making these luau banana split “bites,” which are an easy and delicious birthday party food idea for kids! This simple recipe requires only sliced fruit, chocolate for dipping, and of course, a method of display. Whether you use toothpicks, Popsicle sticks, or BigDotofHappiness.com’s own Luau birthday party cupcake toppers as we did here, your guests will be delighted with this sweet summer party treat.
Supply List:
- Strawberries
- Bananas
- Pineapple
- Chocolate candy melts or almond bark
- Personalized cupcake picks
- Optional: Chopped nuts, coconut, or sprinkles
Instructions:
Slice fresh strawberries, bananas and pineapples and assemble them into stacks, then insert a single cupcake pick into each fruit stack and freeze until solid (about 1 hour). Melt your chocolate according to the package directions, then remove your frozen fruit from the freezer. Dip the fruit into the melted chocolate, letting the excess melt off for a moment before placing each treat on a tray to harden. (If you’d like, you can dip the chocolate-covered fruit into chopped nuts, coconut or sprinkles at this point.) When all of your fruit has been dipped in chocolate, place your tray in the freezer to harden for another hour or so, then store your snacks in a covered container until they’re ready to be enjoyed! Seriously, how cute would these treats look as part of a luau birthday party candy buffet?
Since BigDotofHappiness.com’s cupcake toppers are available in a variety of birthday party themes, these simple snacks can be served at any type of party! Just make sure you have enough – they’ll go fast!
