Introducing Big Dot’s Mascots!
A new web video series highlighting our unique culture and core values introduces company mascots, Marti & Stuart, and will showcase each company value. Marti & Stuart premiered February 2nd and will feature a new video release every Thursday.
The Web video series celebrates Big Dot’s core values and quirky company culture with company mascots, one in a box and one in argyle socks, who get caught in the act as they interpret the core values and have a little fun along the way.
“We want everyone to know who we are, not just what we sell,” says Sherri Yukel, founder and president of all Big Dot Shops. “Big Dot of Happiness isn’t just a brand. We have a company culture that celebrates life. We work hard so we can play hard and Marti & Stuart display that exactly.”
Marti is full of enthusiasm as he brings the Big Dot Box That Rocks to life while Stuart is the reliable one who sometimes needs a little coaxing to take risks. These two unique characters put a face on Big Dot, teaching customers about the company’s culture. “Marti & Stuart bring our tagline to life. Marti is all about making life’s occasions fun while Stuart gets the job done, it’s about time,” says Yukel.
Catch Marti & Stuart in a variety of shenanigans every Thursday on the Big Dot of Happiness YouTube channel.

Easy DIY Cupcake Stand
Height and layers at a buffet table or candy buffet is a quick way to make an event stand out among the rest. DIY cupcake stands will give your event the personal touch that makes your party memorable, all while providing a decorative place to display your tasty treats.
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so if you have chosen Modern Ladybug party theme, now is the time to stock up on the plates and dividers to coordinate your DIY cupcake stand. With Easter and spring on the way, it will soon be time to hunt for items that will coordinate with other baby shower or birthday party themes, like Mommy Silhouette or Under the Sea Critters. Gather the pastels now, then when the summer colors are out, pair your light color plates with a coordinating, darker hue plates and your guests will certainly be impressed.
Start with three coordinating plates and two dividers. This tutorial was under $5 – plates were $1 each in the seasonal isle and the dividers were $.97 in the home décor area, all from my local big-box store, and it used less and 1/2 of a hot glue stick.
Hot glue one divider to the bottom plate, then add a ring of glue to the top and attach the bottom of the second plate.
Repeat the process for the third tier and you quickly have a treat stand uniquely your own.
How will you use these treat stands at your event?
