Two Peas in a Pod Birthday Party Theme

Looking for a fun birthday theme for twins? Big Dot of Happiness has an adorable Two Peas in a Pod theme. You can purchase one of our party packs and be ready to go! If you’re looking for cute ways to keep the theme going throughout the party, try some of these ideas:

  • Games that require a partner like three-legged, wheelbarrow, and relay races. (This works best when there is an even number of guests.
  • Have two small cakes instead of one large one. If making cakes at home, one box of cake mix makes a standard 9×13, but you can split it into two 8-inch round or square pans and let each twin choose the decorations for their own cake. This also allows them to blow out their own set of candles.
  • Serve food that is best when paired with something else. Some healthier ideas are celery and peanut butter, ham and cheese roll-ups, or spaghetti & meatballs.
  • For party favors you make up goody bags with things like brush/comb sets, notebooks & pens, or anything that celebrates a pair. Don’t forget to include a candy bar wrapped with Big Dot’s personalized Two Peas in a Pod themed wrapper!

For any double birthday, keep in mind that you want to give your twins a chance to express themselves as individuals too. This is one reason why something their own smaller cake can be very meaningful. Another way to celebrate twins as individuals is to have guests sing “Happy Birthday” twice, once to each child.

Also, it’s understandable to want to limit the number of guests, but try to invite both mutual and individual friends. For instance, if you are inviting ten guests, allow six that both kids agree on and two they can pick on their own.

Enjoy your twins’ day and keep in mind that “Double Trouble” can turn into double the fun!
